What we need from you

Most remakes trace back to the impression, not the lab. These are the things that let us finish a case first time.

  • Clearance. Around 1.0 to 1.5 mm occlusal for monolithic, more where you want ceramic layered over a cutback.
  • Margin. A clear, continuous chamfer or rounded shoulder, roughly 0.5 mm, and no blood or moisture over it in the impression.
  • Line angles. Rounded internal angles. Sharp angles mill badly and fit worse.
  • Records. Opposing arch and a bite record, even for a single unit.
  • Shade. Taken at the start of the appointment before the tooth dries out, with a photograph of the tab beside the prepared tooth in daylight if you can manage it.

The preparation, in section

The three things that decide whether a case fits first time. Clearance under the opposing tooth, a margin we can actually read, and internal angles a bur has already rounded. Getting these right at the chair saves the remake.

How we make it

  • Your case is collected the same day you tell us it is ready.
  • The case is designed to your prep, then milled on a 5-axis machine.
  • Sintered, then finished by hand at the bench. Layered cases are built up in Ivoclar ceramic.
  • A prosthodontist, MDS in Prosthodontics and Implantology, checks the case before it is packed.
  • Delivered back to your clinic with the warranty card in the box.

Our own team collects from your clinic and delivers the finished work back, 9am to 9pm, as many rounds as you need.

On a long span bridge it is usually the connector that fails, not the crown. The prosthodontist who checks your case is first author on a published study of connector design and the flexural strength of zirconia, in the Journal of Indian Prosthodontic Society. More about the lab.

Connector design and where a bridge gives way

All three were cut to the same 10 mm² cross section and loaded on a universal testing machine, vertically and obliquely. No single shape wins both ways, which is why we want to know where the bridge sits and how the patient loads it before we design the connector.
